Here are some the pictures of the Dauphin Island from Memorial Day weekend. The berm project was just recently completed and costs 4 Million dollars. As you can see, a small storm totally breached this on the western end of the island. The picture of the pipe coming out of the ground is where it is expected a new house to be built. There are many pipes sticking out of the water. What do I think the answer is?? The government should buy the property - pre-hurricane prices and not allow any future building. You cannot stop mother nature. This would probably say lots of taxpayer's dollars.
