On July 21st through July 28th, Grant and I went to stay at Tybee Island to stay with my mother and extended family. Grant had a blast! He got to spend time with his grandmother, his cousins, his aunt Rachael, and of course his mommy. It was a lot of fun to see Grant interact with all his cousins. It is kind of funny to see how each one holds something special for him. See pictures!
Looking at the picture of the kids on the couch, I will attempt to explain how each child is related.
Reese, age 3 - This is my sister Rachael's firstborn. Grant absolutely adores him. Promises of getting to see Reese can get Grant in gear to do almost anything including cleaning his room. Reese is one of the few that makes it in to Grant's prayers often.
Ian, age 5 - This is my sister Kay's second born. Grant clicked with Ian on this trip because they are both a little afraid of the big ocean and they both adore movies. They will both just totally become a zombie in front of the tube!
In the middle is Grant - age 2!
Aurie, age 7- This is my sister Kay's first born. Aurie was the first cousin to ever see Grant. She drove all the way from Savannah with MawMaw when Grant was born. Aurie loves to help with the little ones. On this trip, Grant was at the perfect age where Aurie could baby him but he was old enough that I didn't have to worry about them. She was very helpful in keeping Grant entertained and reading him bedtime stories!
Luke, age 8(?) months - This is my sister Rachael's second born. Luke is our little miracle baby. Born at 32-33 weeks gestation, he came in the world small (not for his age) but determined. He decided that he wasn't going to spend much time in NICU and decided that his lungs were mature enough to go home early. He is now a very normal (if not above average) 8 month old baby. Grant loves him too. We have to watch him with the baby. Grant wants to put his hands all over him.
My mother (MawMaw) is holding Luke. She has all of her grandchildren on her couch except one. My sister Kay had her third baby while we were at the beach. If you look at the pictures link you will see the picture of Reilly. Ok, I know that I have really screwed up the spelling of her name. I have never seen it written. The following video is the new baby getting blood work and Aurie and Ian dealing with it!
